It's no secret that Jesus Dueñas is an open supporter of the environmental movement. As equipment services team leader in the Engine Assembly unit for Honda of America Mfg., Inc.'s Anna Engine Plant, it's not surprising that Jesus would serve as the subject in the all-new What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series. According to Honda News, it's the dedication portrayed by Dueñas that landed him as the subject for the series. He and several friends began an association called Amigos de la Montaña, which means Friends of the Mountain.
This organization aims to aid deforestation by planting trees in Patamban, Michoacán, Mexico. The group plants trees on a mountain that has suffered severe deforestation in certain areas. On a yearly basis, Amigos de la Montaña proves their name to be true through their actions. Jesus makes an annual trip to this mountain, which for him is a childhood landmark, to plant trees. The organization has grown immensely in recent years. At this time, Amigos de la Montaña has over 600 volunteers who have helped plant more than 15,000 trees! According to Dueñas, "Technology can help make the environment better." It just takes one leader like Jesus to make a difference.
