Civic vs Corolla

You can find the widest selection of 2015 Honda Civic models at Honda of Ocala in Ocala, FL. We've been serving the communities in and surrounding Ocala for many years and have become Florida's preferred dealership for all things Honda. The Civic is one of the most popular models we carry; one test drive and you'll see why drivers everywhere love this little car.

The 2015 Honda Civic makes a great choice with a lot of value; compare it to the Toyota Corolla.

Power and Performance

In terms of power, the 2015 Civic certainly has the Corolla beat soundly. Both vehicles are outfitted with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, but the Civic is rated for 143 horsepower while the Corolla only offers 132 horsepower from the same sized powertrain. Engine torque is similar, but the Civic is still more powerful in this respect as well, generating 129 lb-ft. at 4,300 RPM versus the Corolla's 128 lb-ft. at 4,400 RPM.

Standard Features

The 2015 Honda Civic offers great value in the form of standard amenities, even on its base trim grades. The entry-level Civic LX provides creature comforts throughout the cabin, like controls for the cruise system, audio, Bluetooth connection, and infotainment system mounted on the steering wheel; a text-message assistant, and a 5" touch-screen display on the center console. The Corolla doesn't offer a cruise control system or any steering-wheel controls on its base model. Another thing the Civic has that the Corolla doesn't? Remote keyless entry, which comes in the form of Honda's Smart Entry system.

Safety is a hot-ticket item nowadays, so it should be a big comfort to know that the Honda Civic is designated as a 'Top Safety Pick' vehicle by the IIHS for its 2015 model year. Not only did the Civic score 'Good' on all of the long-standing crash tests, but it also earned a 'Good' score in the often-difficult small-front overlap test. The Corolla only earned a 'Marginal' score in the small-front overlap test, and so, only earned a 'Top Safety Pick' rating by the IIHS. Base Civic models offer an anti-theft alarm system, something that the Corolla also can't match.
